Lynwood Community Adult School Celebrates Black History Month
Lynwood Community Adult School Celebrated Black History month with a “Taste of Soul” hosted by the LCAS staff on Monday, February 26, 2024. The objective of this event was to introduce students to the diverse culinary tastes, history and heritage of African American and Black culture. It truly embodied the flavors and cultural significance of soul food, offering a diverse array of dishes including smothered chicken, jambalaya, red beans and rice, cornbread, pinto beans, mustard and turnip greens, and more.
Our students gained a deeper historical understanding and appreciation of African American heritage and enduring contributions to American culture.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff and students whose contributions made this event a resounding success!
