Compton’s extensive programs offer many practical pathways to success, but its most important resource may be the caring faculty and staff who support students on a daily basis. Cindy Lopez, also from the ABE Reading Program, says teachers go above and beyond to help students achieve their dreams.

"Going to Compton Adult School has been great,” says Cindy. “The teachers are amazing and willing to help students because they know we can do it. The teachers give students the push we need to succeed."

In addition to being supportive, Compton's instructors are industry experts in their respective fields. Jennifer Culpepper, who has been taking advantage of Compton’s Computer Classes says, "My experience here has been positive since I enrolled. Everyone has been so helpful, especially my instructor, Ms. Hernandez, who is kind and knows her stuff. It is empowering to learn with her."

Yvonne Gainer from the Business Technology Department agrees. She has learned Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and has moved on to Access, all of which have improved her professional office skills and made her more employable. Yvonne says, "The lessons I have learned from Compton's Adult School are beyond my belief, and I am still learning. My instructor, Ms. Hernandez, is passionate about teaching her students about business technology and does an excellent job."
